About the Club

We are a global network in which you and your peers are recognized as leaders and change agents.

The mission of the Club is to promote the appointment of women to senior corporate positions & boards; and to facilitate gender diversity within the energy sector.

The Club was founded in London in 2011 and was launched at the House of Lords. Since then, it has held over 100 events in 15 countries with 2,000 executive level women attending Club events.

Commercial opportunities are generated at many Hawthorn Club events. Since 2018 we have tracked  over 300 million dollars’ worth of deals have been done at Club events over the years. The women of the  Club aren’t simply debating important issues, they are acting on them, making capital investments in new  technologies to drive this transition.

We celebrated the 10 Year Anniversary of the Club in 2021.

The Club has branches in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and North America.

The Hawthorn Club holds at least 2 events in each region per year and one Global Summit.

Since 2017, The Hawthorn Club utilizes BloombergNEF’s deep analysis to inform event dialogues, and Members are invited to attend and participate in important BloombergNEF events.

The Clean Energy Council (CEC) members are companies who work in or support the clean energy sector in Australia. The CEC and The Hawthorn Club collaborate and work together to advance and support shared strategic goals regarding the advancement of women employed in the energy sector, and ensuring that women’s perspectives are a part of the energy transition dialogue at events and in other forums.

The Aspen Institute’s Energy and Environment Program addresses critical energy, environmental, and climate change issues through convening non-partisan and non-ideological events. The Hawthorn Club partner with the Aspen Institute with the intent of bringing together diverse stakeholders – specifically including women – to improve the process and progress of policy-level dialogue.
